Have you come across lists of things you shouldn’t do if you have scoliosis? I have, and my reaction is always:

When I read lists of things I should not do because I have scoliosis, I find myself aggressively rolling my eyes.

I love that a condition that has no known cause (referring to idiopathic here) – which by definition means medical professionals don’t know what causes it – can have restrictions for what can make it worse. Really? Wearing high heels? That’s what’s going to make my [already for no reason] severe scoliosis get worse? How about I do whatever I want when I want because I can and I will.

So, to add to the internet discussion, I’m compiling my list of things you can and can’t do if you have scoliosis below.

Things you can do if you have scoliosis

  1. Love yourself.
  2. Love others.

Things you can’t do if you have scoliosis

Psh, I’m not telling you what you can’t do. You tell me! You already know. As my dad told me when I was a very little girl”don’t say I can’t, say ‘I’ll try'”.

What will you try to do today?

And if I can ask anything, please please please, do the things that make you feel bad less often than the things that make you feel good. #Find your bliss and rock it.

You were created divinely. Stay true to you my friends. That is all we owe the world.
