We don’t talk enough about water. The body can transform just by hydrating. It’s ok if your motivation for drinking more water is to achieve glowing skin (number 8), that’s what got me initially intrigued!
My take on water completely changed once I read the book, You’re Not Sick, You’re Thirsty, which opened my eyes to how important water is and how dehydration can show up in many different ways in terms of symptoms in the body.
The main reason I wanted to post about this is that our brain needs water to operate correctly. Through my research on scoliosis, the most interesting thing I’ve encountered is the concept of a neurological component of spinal curvatures. I’m hoping to shed more research on this when I have facts to share. Especially since scoliosis treatments that I’ve heard of have all been structural, focusing on the body and not the mind. What if we’ve been focusing on the wrong thing? For now, my harmless take away is we need to be drinking more water. We need to stay hydrated. Given the mysterious nature of scoliosis, our baseline should be setting up our system for optimal performance and that means drinking up :)
Here’s how I make drinking more water a little easier:
- I use a 32oz HydroFlask (it keeps water cool for up to 24 HOURS. How neat is that?)
- I set a daily goal to drink one 32oz fill of my water bottle by noon
- I add lemon to hot water and drink it like tea
- I add cucumber for a little flavor
How do you make drinking water more satisfying?
