Fall and WInter are THE BEST seasons for scoli girl fashion. Whether you are concealing a back brace or simply want to love what you see in the mirror, there’s nothing like feeling comfy and secure in our clothes. And I’m becoming more and more aware of how my day-to-day look impacts my confidence.
This season I treated myself to this snuggle fest of a sweater and I have been obsessed with it. The short-torso-long-legs body type is a vibe when styled correctly, and that is exactly what I’m leaning into for this season of hibernation and rest.
While I am exploring new brands on the clothing from (this sweater is Free People), I have found a staple shoe brand that is pretty much my go-to when I want to respect my feet. I came across Xero shoes when looking for a pair of walking shoes back in 2019 and they recently came out with a pair called the Kelso that I purchased earlier this year. I get a half size larger than my normal shoe size. They give my toes the space and freedom they need to walk literally for miles, which is what I did on my last trip to NYC. In addition to wearing them around town, they have turned out to be great for my workouts as I’m doing strength training with a personal trainer. My trainer said having shoes like these that are flat on the bottom are ideal for the workouts we’ve been doing together.

One thing I am learning lately is that choosing cozy clothes is a form of self-care. Taking a moment to select an outfit that feels and looks good is a form of self-love, reminding me to prioritize my comfort and happiness. Having shoes that are comfortable AND cute means my self-esteem doesn’t need to be compromised by my need for comfort.

True confidence stems from feeling comfortable in your own skin. Comfy clothes, by their very nature, allow us to feel at ease and accept ourselves just as we are. When we feel physically comfortable, it reflects in our posture, demeanor, and how we carry ourselves. May we carry ourselves with high regard for our mental and emotional well-being. We absolutely deserve that and so much more!
