I am very excited about 2018. January in all its newness can be quite refreshing. There were quite a few wake-up calls for me in 2017. One of them being a need to heal my gut through clean eating, and the other, to restore my body through exercise. In this post, I share what a typical day for me looks like as I cleanse my body and my spirit to set myself up for a great new year! (I’ve included links below to the brands I use using my Amazon affiliate links, feel free to check them out!)
Daybreak wakeup @ 6:30 am: Glass of water with lemon juice
*20 minutes of vinyasa yoga at home*
Pre-breakfast: Tulsi (holy basil) peppermint tea with collagen powder
Breakfast: Sweet potato with 1 tsp coconut oil and walnut butter
Lunch: Grass-fed ground beef (4 oz) onions and garlic sautéed in olive oil seasoned with Himalayan pink salt with a green smoothie made of ½ avocado, spinach, spring mix greens, 2 dates (hydrated in water for a couple days), ¼ of a pear, a scoop of collagen powder and water with 5000 IUs of Vitamin D3
Lunch Dessert: The remainder of the pear
Snack: A warm glass of bone broth and a banana
Supplement break: Water with milk thistle extract
*1 hours of strength training at the gym*
(I do strength training 3 days a week. I go to yoga class on off days and rest on Sundays)
Appetizer: Green olives
Dinner: Grass-fed ground beef (4 oz)onions and garlic sautéed in olive oil, broccoli, and cauliflower seasoned with Himalayan pink salt served with kimchi and ½ avocado
Dessert: An organic chocolate bar. I currently get these at Whole Foods: Theo Organic Fair Trade Dark Chocolate Bars
*Warm 20-minute bath with 1 cup of Epsom salt and 10-20 drops of lavender essential oil*
What does your typical day look like? What are some indulgences that you like to treat yourself with?

Sounds like a great day! It sounds like there’s a nice balance between eating quality food while constantly checking back in the body throughout the day.

It really is! Especially the nice warm bath at the end of it. I put on this piano playlist from Spotify https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX7K31D69s4M1 It melts away any stressors or tension and prepares me to wind down for a good night’s sleep.
