celery juice for scoliosisCelery juice is my jam right now and this food trend is exploding this year. As of January first, I start my day with a cup of freshly juiced celery.

So, does celery juice live up to all the hype?

YES. And here’s why…

When I started, I didn’t realize how powerful and nutrient dense celery juice is. It hits on a lot of the minerals I was turning to supplements to acquire.

The benefits I’ve experienced:

  • Increased energy
  • Reduced the number of magnesium supplements I take (because I was getting enough from the juice)
  • Smoother skin
  • Moons forming on my fingernails
  • Eliminated my anxiety

Food-based bone health support

I never thought I’d be juicing on a regular basis and this has been a pleasant surprise. I viewed juicing as a waste of much-valued fiber! Turns out I’d been thinking about it all wrong. My approach is not to juice as a way of replacing meals, but rather, a food-based resource of vitamins and minerals that I was turning to supplements for support.

“A lack of natural sodium in your diet causes your body to pull it from your bones, making them weak and brittle over time. Nature has cleverly provided celery to help humans strengthen and replenish their body’s skeletal system.” – FoodMatters

There are bone health benefits of drinking celery juice! Celery is high in vitamin K and calcium which are key components of bone metabolism.

Does celery juice actually work?

I have gathered a nice collection of healthy habits that work well for me and celery juice has been a positive addition. Whether celery juice “works” is completely dependent upon the individual. If you are looking to create wellness habits that make you feel great, you likely have the open mindset to determine whether the effects are worth the effort. In an attempt to stay away from absolutes, I plan to enjoy celery juice during the times my body can benefit from this practice. I expect to alternate celery juice in and out of my regimen as my body needs change.

While I currently juice on the reg, I can see getting to the point where I only make celery juice when I’m craving some extra immune system support. I don’t know when that will be, and I can say with confidence that taking the time to figure it out speaks to the desire to be in tune with myself and honoring this relationship.
